Basically two tool holder systems are available for Dörries lathes. One for powerfull turning operations and the other one if boring and milling operations are additionally required.
Dörries CONTUMAT VC 7000 V
The cast iron ram design includes a closed hydrostatic guide system. Ram section of 300 x 300 mm or 480 x 400 mm are available. Z-stroke options of 1500 mm to 3500 mm are possible
High production flexibility through a wide range of head attachments, from angular milling heads and universal-swivel heads up to facing heads or grinding spindles.
A powerful high-pressure cooling system (70 -350 bar) ensures uniform chip breakage, thus avoiding impairments of workpiece quality and facilitating chip disposal.
Vertical turning lathe
With the addition of a moveable table, traversing through the twin column portal design of the VC machine range, the VC-V provides the ultimate flexibility for machining large components. In addition to the «on center» machining capability of a standard lathe the VC-V machines are able to machine eccentric features. With the use of our extensive range of standard milling and drilling attachments, the VC-V machine range is capable of full 5 sided machining of components up to 12,000 mm in diameter and 350 tons in weight.
On machines with a Y-axis the component can be machined in any position. The turning table is set on a sliding bed. The default Y-axis travel corresponds to the swing diameter of the machine size, but can be tailored to suit any application.
Innovative Solutions
A wide variety of head attachments are available. These could be angular milling heads, universal-swivel heads, facing heads or grinding spindles.
For various types of workpieces different clamping solutions are available. Tables for jaw boxes, with inserted basic sliders, with hydraulic power chucks or with magnetic power chucks. The table load is max. 350000 kg.
The machine can be adapted with a boring and milling drive of 37 kW. Also grinding operations are optinal possible.
The crossrail offers hydrostatic guiding in the x-axis. The guiding width is 700 - 1500 mm. The crossrails are hydrostatically clamped.
The cast iron ram design consists a closed hydrostatic guide system. Ram section of 300 x 300 mm or 480 x 400 mm are available. Z-stroke options of 1500 mm to 3500 mm are possible.
The main drive is powered by one or two electrically preloaded drive units with asynchronous motors. The power is max. 2 x 60 kW. The version with two motors (master-slave principle) permits exact positioning and feed motion of the machine tables in a numerically-controlled C-axis for boring and milling, as well as the highest dynamics in tuning.
The cast iron design of the main components leads to a vibration damping design. All main machine groups are calculated and optimised using the Finite-Element Methode (FEM) regarding stiffness and cross sections.
Automatic work piece changing equipment reduces set-up down time with increased manufacturing flexibility.
Dörries lathes offer flexible tool handling systems. The multifunctional disc magazin offers up to 72 pockets, the chain type magazine up to 100 pockets and the column magazine with double gripper unit up to 210 pockets.
Everything from simply part storage to most complex flexible manufacturing systems – even of the largest machines. The Starrag Group makes Industry 4.0 a reality. Read more
