The cast iron single column design of the main components leads to a vibration damping design. All main machine groups are calculated and optimised using the Finite-Element Methode (FEM) regarding stiffness and cross sections.
Dörries CONTUMAT VCE 2800
Higher productivity through complete machining due to integrated drilling and milling drive
Individual clamping solutions are available for every range of workpieces. Tables for jaw boxes, with inserted basic sliders, with hydraulic power chucks or with magnetic power chucks.
Manufacturing variety thanks to high-performance tool holders for powerful turning operations as well as drilling and milling operations.
vertical turning lathe
The compact single column vertical lathe (swing diameters of 1,400 to 2,800 mm) is appropriate not only for turning, but, with additional units, can also be used for drilling, milling and grinding. It means that it is possible, in a single clamping, to carry out a full machining operation on the CONTUMAT VCE and not simply turning.
The rigid cast construction on this lathe ensures low vibration and accurate cutting; hydrostatic guide rails damp vibrations even further. The technical design and numerous fitting options mean that Dörries is able to configure an individual machine to every customer.
Innovative Solutions
Automatic work piece changing equipment reduces set-up down time with increased manufacturing flexibility.
Dörries lathes offer flexible tool handling systems. The multifunctional disc magazin offers up to 72 pockets, the chain type magazine up to 100 pockets and the column magazine with double gripper unit up to 210 pockets.
Basically two tool holder systems are available for Dörries lathes. One for powerfull turning operations and the other one if boring and milling operations are additionally required.
A wide variety of head attachments are available. These could be angular milling heads, universal-swivel heads, facing heads or grinding spindles.
For various types of workpieces different clamping solutions are available. Tables for jaw boxes, with inserted basic sliders, with hydraulic power chucks or with magnetic power chucks. The table load is max. 25000 kg.
The machine can be adapted with a boring and milling drive of 37 kW. Also grinding operations are optinal possible.
The crossrail offers hydrostatic guiding in the X-axis. The crossrails are adjusted by means of a lifting unit. The crossrails are hydrostatically clamped and positioned by index bolts at intervals of 100 mm.
The cast iron ram design consists a closed hydrostatic guide system. Ram section of 250 x 250 mm or 300 x 250 mm are available. Z-stroke options of 1100 mm, 1500 mm and 1750 mm are possible.
The main drive is powered by one or two electrically preloaded drive units with asynchronous motors. The power is max. 2 x 60 kW. The version with two motors (master-slave principle) permits exact positioning and feed motion of the machine tables in a numerically-controlled C-axis for boring and milling, as well as the highest dynamics in tuning.
