The machine frame, cast as one piece from high grade cast iron (GGG80), guarantees top stability and long term precision. Its 3-point support does not require a special foundation and it will even maintain its volumetricefficiency rate on a slightly uneven surface.
SIP 5000/7
ultra precise vertical machining center
Ever since it was founded in 1862, the Geneva-based Société d’Instruments de Précision (SIP) has been a benchmark for precision machine tool engineering. The basic design of SIP machines can still be found today in all traditional machining centers, both for vertical and horizontal models.
SIP 5000/6 / 5000/7
The SIP vertical range is a must for all producers of parts with high levels of value creations. It enables ultraprecision positioning and the closest of dimensional tolerances for drilling and milled surfaces.
Innovative Solutions
The SIP range of high precision spindles, with highest accuracy, offers a solution for every application. For deep hole boring, SIP has a special spindle with precision quill. High speed spindles, with 30 000 rpm, and grinding spindles are also available with SIP centers. All spindles have ultra precise bearings with variable hydraulic bearing preloads and a concentrically arranged, highly accurate high performance asynchronous motor.
Only top quality steel scales are used in SIP machining centers. This has the advantage that the unique precision of the machine, even with temperature fluctuations of up to 1 °C per hour and 4 °C per day, can be guaranteed.
Thanks to their V profile on one side, the roller guideways are completely friction free and can only expand parallel to the other relevant components and measuring systems – therefore guaranteeing precision. The precisionground roller bearings ensure virtually frictionless movement. (P < 3 Micron bi-directional positioning VDI/DGQ or ISO standard).
At SIP, scraping is done by hand. Starting with the machine base to the linear guideways and ball screws, to the spindle heads and axis. This method bestows all our machining centers with perfect geometry and long term precision.
Two state of the art, worldwide proven CNC control solutions are available from Siemens or Fanuc; allowing the SIP machines to be perfectly integrated into existing production systems.
